The Vet Bills That Changed Everything
It all started with our chaotic, stubborn, and utterly charming French Bulldog. Like any new Frenchie parents, we bought all the popular, highly rated pet store supplies. We bought the standard harnesses, the default grooming wipes, and the trendy local collars.
Then reality hit. The standard collar left our pup wheezing on warm morning walks. The generic harness rubbed her armpits raw, causing red, painful skin irritation. Worst of all, despite using standard pet wipes, her deep facial wrinkles developed severe yeast infections (fold dermatitis) that resulted in a heartbreaking, $600 veterinary bill.
That was our wake-up call. We realized the mass-market pet industry was entirely built for convenience. They design gear for "average, long-snouted dogs" and simply downsize it for smaller breeds. But a Frenchie isn't an average dog downsized. They are a unique biological masterpiece.
